Dreams of a Supercluster Installation

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the largest optical telescope in space, with six times the light-gathering area of the Hubble Telescope, allowing it to see further and in more detail. This sculpture imagines all of the new cosmic phenomena we will discover with the JWST. It is inspired specifically by the BOSS great wall, which is a supercluster in deep space composed of over 800 galaxies. Planets, stars, and nebulae weave together to form a shape not unlike a spider web. Through this sculpture, 'Dreams of a Supercluster', we can experience a piece of the BOSS great wall as if it is glowing within reach right above us instead of 5 billion lightyears away. For reference, the sculpture is approximately 14' wide, 7' long (not including the portion winding around the central column) and is suspended over 20' in the air from the ceiling of the Tulsa Air and Space Museum's Planetarium building. The Tempest's Parallax and Related Installation Pieces

The Tempest's Parallax, my sci-fi inspired large scale immersive art installation, opened in August 2020 as a part of ahha's semi-permanent exhibit THE EXPERIENCE: IMAGINE and closed in November 2022. I am directing and writing a companion film piece, entitled Parallax, scheduled for production in 2022. Between late 2021 and June 2022, other smaller related pieces were installed throughout the museum (pictured below), further expanding the storyline of The Tempest's Parallax and creating an ever evolving interactive artistic landscape for return visitors at ahha to explore.

Installation Teaser: Science and nature can sometimes be a dangerous combination; the result can be one of beauty or of terror. Just because a thing can be done, should it? Enter the Tempest and judge for yourself. See the universe through the eyes of Prota Tooru, the solitary resident of the Tempest space station module. Investigate the chilling story of the Splicer experiments that led to an intergalactic revolution. Learn the ancient origins of the alien species that started it all. This exhibit will be followed by a companion Youtube Series entitled Parallax, Series 1 coming in 2023, from Junkyard Energy.
